Todd Mather
relocated from Park City, Utah to lead the
architectural design division of Gary Davis Group in
May 2002. Since this time, Todd has worked with
dozens of clients creating unique living spaces that
respond to each home owner’s needs and desires, as
well as solving the interesting challenges posed by
commercial clients. Todd’s award-winning designs in
the resort mountain towns of Park City, Utah and
Tahoe City, California are reflective his passion
for excellent design. His approach incorporates
carefully planned winter-design elements yet also
considers that dwellings must also respond properly
to the arid and sometimes hot summers. Success to
him is in finding architectural timelessness in
scale, form, and material among a gentrified
architectural context and spectacular natural
environments.
Todd is responsible for multiple architectural
design projects that include the coordination of
structural engineering, interior designers, special
consultants, permit processing and construction
administration. He also manages the design
department and is in charge of marketing for the
firm. An Architect in Utah, he is also a member of
the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the
National Council of Architectural Registration
Boards (NCARB).
He received both his Master of Architecture (1996)
and a Bachelor of Architectural Studies from the
University of Utah. After being selected as the
Roger Bailey Traveling Fellow, he traveled and
studied architecture throughout Italy. Todd has
served on the Park City Historic District Commission
and on the Board of Directors for the American
Institute of Architects in Reno, Nevada. His work
spans from the Outer Banks of North Carolina to
Utah, northern Idaho and California. Collaborating
with Wired magazine's founders on three of their
historic Park City home remodels resulted in his
being published in Utah Homes & Gardens. Todd
redesigned the highly-visible Gary Davis Building
into what some term a "daring interpretation" of the
Tahoe architectural style. This work won him an AIA
Design Award in 2004.
