A premiere North Tahoe development company, DMB Highlands, needed a highly-visible real estate office at The Village at Northstar. The design needed to reflect the essence of a Martis Camp custom home - warm, mountainous, elegant, contemporary, fresh.
Using recycled wood, we articulate the ceiling to reflect seating areas within the ‘home’. Of course, all focus is on the striking stone fireplace and hearth. This is located at the back wall of the shallow tenant improvement space for full visibility to the exterior pedestrian street. Dark brown leather reminiscent of rich western saddles wraps structural columns while a carefully detailed wood wainscot wraps the walls. Custom furniture throughout compliments a custom rolling door that seals the private staff area. Bookcases, benches, coffee bar and luxury lockers-cabinets round-out the ski-oriented clientelles’ ability to kickback and relax between runs. Anyone for a piping-hot Heidi-cocoa?
Robert Marr Construction (RMC) dazzled the owner with an unapologetic schedule that allowed this to open in 60 days – just in time for July 4th clients. The careful coordination of Gary Davis Group, RMC, and the owner’s representative, Ms. Franke, proved that a very tight schedule and a modest budget could be wrangled into a concise, richly detailed and successful project.
