A first in the State of Nevada, and the 26th in the world to receive a LEED Platinum certification, Gary Davis Group was honored to provide Civil Engineering services for this world-class project. Home to the research that keeps Lake Tahoe blue, this project was challenged to minimize construction site disturbance and the impacts of storm-water on the surrounding environment. By limiting site access, the natural condition of the adjacent forestland was preserved and storm-water collection was designed to mitigate the impacts of the project on storm-water quantity and quality. The development footprint was further restricted by placing the two 25,000 gallon chilling tanks under the service entrance driveway. The storm-water retention basin was designed to reintroduce runoff into the natural environment through evaporation and infiltration and restrict discharge of suspended solids and other pollutants found in storm-water.
